Loving this new chair from Irish Design company – Deanta Design showing at the ‘Weathering’ exhibition as part of this year’s London Design Festival http://www.londondesignfestival.com/
From the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland’s web site:
Highlights of this year’s exhibition, Weathering, include the unveiling of a number of exciting and exclusive collaborations between Irish makers and internationally renowned designers. Reflecting an openness amongst designers and makers to learn from each other, these collaborations push boundaries, leading to the development of objects that fluidly combine contemporary ideas and traditional techniques. Award winning designer Andrew Clancy of Déanta Design has teamed up with boat builder Matthew O’Malley to create a new chair; Horizon Furniture’s “Stanley Lounge Chair” in a solid frame in Irish Oak will be upholstered in Donegal Tweed by Molloy & Sons; pepper mills designed by Makers&Brothers are handcrafted by wood turner Matt Jones and Úna Burke’s figurative leatherwork complements the carafe made by The Irish Handmade Glass Company, all will be launched during LDF 2014.
