How do designers take an idea and then make it a reality?

The Ark have challenged five Irish designers to design and make new products for children that take their inspiration from iconic children’s toys, furniture and textiles. The Design It exhibition will chart each designer’s individual working practices, using their sketches, photographs and working prototypes, to reveal how they get from an initial idea to the final product.

After you explore the exhibition, we invite you to relax and enjoy the specially designed children’s area on our long room floor, with areas for reading, playing and drawing your own designs. This space is filled with a selection of Irish designed toys and children’s products for you to play and interact with.
