Pecha Kucha Leitrim 2015 in conjunction with Leitrim Design House/ The Dock, Leitrim Sculpture Centre, The Design and Crafts Council of Ireland and Year of Design 2015 are very proud to announce the second series of Pecha Kucha talks at the Leitrim Design House/ Dock Carrick on Shannon and the Leitrim Scupture Centre in Manorhamilton to co-incide with the Year of Design 2015.
There are lots of exciting speakers lined up from within Leitrim, surrounding counties and overseas with a truly diverse range of topics each night so theres something for everyone. Róisín Loughrey
Róisín Loughrey is a filmmaker and artist based in Co. Leitrim in the North West of Ireland. She graduated from the National Film School, Ireland in 2003 winning numerous international awards for her graduate film ‘Fall Into Half-Angel’.
Her films have screened worldwide, winning awards at international film festivals as well as being screened on TV channels here in Ireland, in Australia and in Canada.
She was shortlisted for the 2014 ICCL Human Rights Film Award for her latest film, the short documentary The Room.
She has also made film work for contemporary art exhibitions in both solo and group shows. Her work has shown in Ireland, Tallinn (Art Academia), London (V&A Museum of Childhood) and New York (MoMA).

Derval McGovern
Derval opened Irelands first Glamping establishment in 2010, with 2 cottages on 5 acres of woodland in North Leitrim. She wanted to make the beautiful woodland site into a magical place for an environmentally friendly, back to nature holiday retreat. After many years of thinking about and talking about the possibility of this venture she finally put her money (and the banks money) where her mouth was and took the plunge of opening the first glamping site in the country. Much to her relief it was an instant success attracting national and international media from the very start.

Susanne Bosch
Susanne Bosch is an artist, works sometimes as researcher and teaches occasionally. As an “interface activist“, she works internationally, predominantly in/with public and on long-term questions, which tackle creative arguments around the ideas of democracy and sustainable futures. Works include issues around money, migration, surviving, work, societal visions and participation models. She develops site- and situation-specific interventions, installations, video, drawing, audio a well as dialogical formats. She achieved a PhD about her public artwork in 2012. From 2007-2012, she developed and led the Art in Public master programme at the University of Ulster in Belfast together with Dan Shipsides.

Johnnie Lawson
“Tapping into the potential of ‘The simple and local'”
Visual artist, Johnnie Lawson journeys through a real live event which commenced at the beginning of this year, where a simple online video of a picturesque scene filmed in Leitrim, snowballed into a global success following an article in the local press.
